Crooksville Grace Chapel began as a home mission under the leadership of Reverend Roger Ellers. Roger Ellers and his family were pastoring in Lake Placid, NY, when Roger first felt the Lord leading him to start a home mission. As time past, it became clear that there was a great need for a holiness church in the area of Crooksville, Ohio. In 1971, Roger Ellers began a home mission known as the Crooksville Mission. Two years later, a building program was launched on Keystone Street which resulted in a new church and parsonage. In 1984, the church was fully organized as the Pilgrim Holiness Church of N.Y., Inc. (United Church Directories, Pilgrim Holiness Church 1985). It is now known as Crooksville Grace Chapel and is pastored by Joshua and Sarah Stamper, Roger Eller's grandson. Crooksville Grace Chapel is an independent holiness church that believes in full salvation and in a second work of grace. It is simply an old fashioned Bible believing and teaching church.
